Look, I have no legit excuses. Pretending like you guys and the last two years didn't happen probably goes on the list of "ways I've been a total asshole to everyone around me."
It's actually a pretty long list, if I stop and think about it.
But it's the little things that wouldn't go away: Habits, gestures, expectations, memories. That goddamn catch phrase that for the life of me I can't stop saying, even when I'm consciously aware that I'm saying it. The irresistible urge to set someone on fire when I hear "Disco Inferno."
So I guess this means I'm done denying.

Date: 2009-03-25 02:26 am (UTC)And well, I'd say this to anyone who returns here, since... I'm an idealist, a historian, a dreamer and a friend. But I'll always say it because... well it's me and us and well, I'm the DreamWriter, present, past and future and I'd like to be the one hoping we all have our happy endings and keep in touch.
What is loved, lives. Even if that love is as simple as the love of friends. Doesn't matter what your Dream is, it'll always be there. It's a treasure to be kept, maybe you will forget it, but mostly it is truly never forgotten.
In spite of the whole shebang of the past, well, the ones once called Refugees are a really big messed up family of friends. Doesn't matter if you're the black sheep, the activist, the dreamer, the troublesome first cousin who pushes people around, that second cousin, once removed who accidentally destroyed a whole nation, or even your average joe schmoe... To me, you're all a part of this community and family as much as the next. To quote a really cute Hawaiian girl and her sister, "O'hana means family. Family means......nobody gets left behind....or forgotten." And following that to quote a fuzzy little blue demon summon, "This is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."
