The Miasma has ceased in its advances. But as Jagannatha forewarned, the effects - illness, hallucinations, Reverse Cure, etc. - remain. They simply do not get worse.

The number of Heartless also stop growing, but they seem to be getting smarter, more cunning in their attacks.

Game Updates

Beast's Castle, Enchanted Dominion, and Dwarf Woodlands reappear on the Gummi map this week, but just as with the other returning worlds, this is not cause for celebration. Like all the others, these worlds are horrifying shadows of what they used to be.

The Miasma is appearing in waterways all over the multiverse. Fish and other sea-dwellers are dying left and right, and it seems that land-dwellers will not be far behind.

Stronger monsters and Heartless are appearing throughout the worlds, and they're getting bolder. Whereas they used to be relatively cautious about entering towns and cities, knowing the threat of the worlds' defenders, they now throw themselves into the streets, markets, and buildings within. Casualties and deaths soar.

The hallucinations experienced by mages are becoming much more realistic and are an almost constant presence to their victims.

Light mages are quickly becoming too ill to be of any use. Fevers are high, and while healers and doctors are having trouble locating the reasons behind this surge in illness, they recommend sufferers to stay at home and rest. Skilled mages may sense the Darkness of the Miasma attacking their systems, drastically weakening them.

Reverse Cure has replaced the spells of the normal Cure tree. Alarms go up among the healers, and all are warned not to use magic, no matter how badly a person might be hurt.

Game Updates

Agrabah reappears on the Gummi map. This is not cause for celebration, however, as any visitors will immediately see: the world came back from Darkness, horribly scarred. Heartless are everywhere, and what people remain are either terrified and doing all they can to simply survive, or are causing some of that terror and wreaking havoc alongside the Heartless. Dark clouds constantly loom overhead, draping all in shadow. The same goes for Destiny Islands.

Hallucinations are becoming more common, especially among Light mages (defined here) and, sometimes, among non-magic folk.

Light mages are feeling under the weather, far more so than just a little fatigue should cause. Many are succumbing to various illnesses, be it infection, cold, or worse. Healers face new problems entirely, with their Cure spells backfiring and hurting instead of healing. Reverse Cure will not happen too often when casting a normal Cure, but it will replace the more powerful spells, such as Curaga and sometimes Cura. All other "light" spells will be weakened, as well.

Dark mages, on the other hand, are getting stronger. Never have they felt so invigorated. All that pent-up energy needs to go somewhere - let's just hope that it doesn't do more bad than good.

Due to all of the recent drama, the Dream Festival was postponed, and has been rescheduled upon the King's return to the Castle for Friday, May 27th.

Game Updates

Heartless continue to get stronger. Shadows and Soldiers, while still easy to find, are not as common as they used to be amongst the stronger breeds.

It's becoming much more common to witness someone turning into a Heartless in the streets of Atlantica. Cue mass panic.

Fights are starting to break out over nothing all over the multiverse.

Wonderland reappears on the world map this week. However, anyone visiting the world will notice that things aren't the way they should be there. Heartless roam freely; no one even seems to notice them, let alone attack or run from them. Nothing is as cheerful or colorful as it should be, except for the natives' eyes: they've all turned gold, and their skin has taken on a purple tinge. It's as if the world was from a nightmare.

Some mages are starting to feel sick. It's nothing too bad at this time, though. Light mages - anyone who knows Cure, Light, Faith, Reflect, Esuna, or any variation thereof - will be the only ones really affected by this. Dark mages, on the other hand - those that know Dark, Gravity, Slow, Stop, Sleep, Poison, or variation thereof - are feeling great. Mages with general elemental knowledge will not be affected by this too much, aside from maybe a headache or nausea. The state of mages with mixed knowledge will be determined by the mage's affinity with magic - whichever category your best spells fall under, that is primarily how you will be feeling.

Sleep has been added to the magic list, along with a description of Scan. You can find that here.

Aqua, Terra, Master Xehanort, Kairi, and Sora are available for apping.

Out-of-Character
Ari is leaving the game, meaning she is no longer a mod. This also means Kairi is available for apping, if anyone is interested. We would like to extend our gratitude for her help in modding this game, as well as an invitation to return at any time, should she so desire.

Aqua, Terra, Master Xehanort, and Sora are also available.

Those of you that have reason to contact Mabry, please do so immediately.

In-Character
Heartless and Nobodies are growing stronger and more widespread. This will be particularly evident in worlds close to the Realm of Darkness, such as Twilight Town, Traverse Town, Castle Oblivion, Radiant Garden, and the Keyblade Graveyard.

The soil surrounding the dead plants is dry, and if one tries to take a measure of the nutrients it holds, he or she will notice that there are none left. It is useless, and gives off the same purple tinge as the plants' leaves.

Atlantica experiences a startling rise in Heartless. Yellow eyes start appearing among the sick populace, and in addition to the rising number of deaths from the poison, rumors of sick citizens suddenly turning into Heartless begin circulating the town.

Tempers are on the rise, as well. Wars, fights, and other random battles against Heartless, Nobodies, and humans alike are becoming much fiercer than before. That mere intolerance you harbor for someone? That has evolved into a full-blown hatred. Only Disney Castle is completely safe from this phenomenon.

Speaking of Disney Castle, the Dream Festival is in two weeks. We didn't get any replies last time, so we'll ask again: do you want a log for this?

Game Updates

Aqua, Terra, and Master Xehanort are available for apping.

Plants throughout the worlds are withering and dying. In the weeks following a plant's death, in addition to that exuding a strange purple substance from their veins that can only be seen upon close inspection, they start to shrivel and take on more of a purple coloration than green or brown.

Dead fish in Atlantica start oozing the same purple something around their gills as the dead plants. The seaside city, upon realizing that whatever is causing their plight is most likely from the water, have begun to cut as much seafood as possible out of their diets, as well as importing water. Doctors begin studying the ocean's water, trying to find a way to fix it. This week also marks the death of the world's first casualties.

Tempers, in general, are rising, and fights breaking out a little more often. This will mostly be unnoticeable, as it will mainly affect those whose tempers are already bad. Things will be much worse in Atlantica.

Despite all the goings on, the citizens of Disney Town try to keep on smiling. Preparations for the festival are well underway, the date set for April 15th. Mod question, though – do you want a log for this? It will basically just be Refugee funtiems, no major plot involved, so it's up to you guys.

Game Updates
In Character
Plants are starting to wither and die, the soil refusing to stay moist long enough to let them soak up much water or nutrients.

The drownings in Andalasia suddenly stop. Citizens are baffled, but they express nothing short of relief that it is finally over.

Atlantica, however, is struggling not to fall into a state of panic. Fish are increasingly showing up dead on the ocean’s surface, and many land-dwellers are falling ill, for no apparent reason. The merpeople of Triton's kingdom are blaming this on the presence of the Heartless and their growing numbers, but this has yet to be confirmed.

On a lighter note, Queen Minnie and some Disney Town citizens have started planning for the Dream Festival! Announcements go out, saying that the festival will be held in mid-April. Don't be afraid to contribute to the festival, either; there is always more fun to be had!

Out of Character
Aqua and Master Xehanort are available for apping. There may be Birth by Sleep spoilers for you, though.

In case you missed it, D-Links are now a component of our game! To use them, you have to have a Wayfinder, but you can always be the forgee. Here is where you can find information about D-Links in the game, and list your own.

Mages who know fourth-tier magic are capable of teaching low-level spells. We know this. What you don't know is that now, we are allowing fourth-tier mages to teach higher spells, such as second and even third-tier spells, given time. Keep in mind, though, that you will need to have a lot of experience with your magic in order to do this. We'd recommend that, at this point, teaching second and particularly third-tier spells be limited to those of you that have known a fourth-tier spell since World Refugees 2.

Game Updates

Aqua and Ven are still available for apping.

After fighting to save the world, Radiant Garden is secure and has been for about three weeks. The Restoration Committee is back in full force, and other crews are helping to repair the damages caused by the Heartless. The Restoration Committee is also looking into better security systems and better training at the military academy; see Leon if you have suggestions about either of these issues.

In the wake of Radiant Garden's resurrection, more Heartless are spreading throughout the worlds, and they seem to get stronger all the time. Some new species may begin appearing as well, but this is a rare occurrence. Please note that this is a very gradual gain in strength; it isn't the apocalypse yet. Don't go overboard or we will step in.

Another subtle change is that tempers in general seem slightly higher than before, and the shadows slightly darker. This will likely go unnoticed by most non-world travelers.

There has been a sudden rise in reports of men drowning at a lake in Andalasia. One woman reports that her fiancé threw himself into the waters while spouting nonsense, despite being unable to swim. This is a summon. Who wants it?

Scan is now an available spell. To learn it, see Howl, Yen Sid, or the Enchantress. Just be sure to ask us mods for details on how the spell works before mentioning it in-game, okay?

We mods now have a questions and feedback post! This is to make things a little easier for you guys to ask questions or give suggestions, just in case you can't get a hold of us over AIM. Don't hesitate to drop us a comment!

The rumors of a tournament at the Olympus Coliseum are confirmed this week, as Phil announces the Hecate Cup! Only mages are permitted to enter this one, but he assures everyone that there will be a tournament for non-magic fighters once this one is over. Sign-ups and the preliminary rounds (against Heartless and Nobodies) will be held in the next week, so don't hesitate to enter – you can do so in this post. The prize for winning: a weapon upgrade that increases your magical capacity, magic lessons of your choice (leading to a spell upgrade), and a big damn trophy!

Mabry, please contact Ray whenever possible. It needn't be over AIM, just whatever suits you best.

The time is here – Birth by Sleep has been released in English. I'm sure plenty of you have access to the game, but to be fair, please put any spoilers beneath an LJ cut with a very clear warning. We don't want to ruin anyone's fun, so be courteous about that. Also, it may be obvious, but Aqua has her own subplot in this game coming up. We're planning to wait until October to get this started to give everyone plenty of time to play the game, but there will still be spoiler warnings until deemed unnecessary.

That said, Aqua is still up for apping purposes, if anyone's interested. It will be spoilery, but like we said, there's plenty of time to play the game before her subplot begins.

As of this log, Aqua and Mickey have left Disney Castle. They've left no clues about where they have gone, and it's impossible to tell when they will return.

So we're clear, the event logs, in terms of the timeline, are long over. The second covered a week and a half maximum, immediately following the first. So by June 12th at the latest, everyone was out of the Dark Coastline and in the Keyblade Graveyard. What you've done since then is up to you; you could have gotten a Gummi ride out, portaled with Ray to Disney Castle, or simply stayed there.

Disney Castle is planning a celebration to commerate the return of Keyblader Aqua, an old friend of King Mickey's! It will be held Saturday, June 26th, starting at noon. Everyone will be preparing for the ceremony this week, so normal routines will go out the window. The Royal Knights will be practicing a special routine, the King (and possibly the Queen) will be preparing a speech, and the cooks are cooking up the feast of a lifetime! Invitations have been sent out to every friend of the Castle, including Refugees that have long since left, the Restoration Committee, and the Others of certain Nobodies. The festivities will be held in Disney Castle's throne room. King Mickey hopes to see you all there!

Aqua, for her part, is a little daunted by all the changes since she's arrived. She may be spending a lot of her time with King Mickey, but she's not averse to wandering around the Castle. Don't be afraid to talk to her, guys! Oh, and she'll spar with you, too, but you'll both have to borrow swords from the Knights.

During one of their weekly inventories, the Royal Knights have discovered that they're short one sword! They're not happy about it, either, and whoever took it will be in for some punishment! The culprit (that means you, Lesley) will be made to clean and polish all of the equipment for a month, starting after the celebration. But don't worry, they're more miffed that the thief didn't thrust them enough to ask for it; they would have given it to him if he did!

Game Updates

Um. I really am sorry for this, guys. I hate leaving you all hanging in logs, hate Paris Curses, etc. I don't like handwaving them, either, because with this game that's generally led to little or no real RPing, and that kind of takes the fun out of an RP. But since this log is going ungodly slow/is dead, I'm giving you a choice.

There was stuff that was supposed to happen in that log. There was supposed to be another log as a result of it for some people – who is technically unknown because it would take knowing who was around for the event in the first log to know who would be involved in it. This is all for the overarching plot and a sideplot we have planned.

But because it's slow as molasses, we don't know what's going on, and everyone in that Roxas Rescue log is currently in limbo. So the question is: do you guys want to handwave everything that happened and just go back and do it later (if ever), or would you like it to continue going as it is? If the votes are for handwaving, there will be another post detailing what was meant to happen, and you guys can say where you were and what happened to you, and logs can come later if you so choose.

So. Handwave, or keep going? It's up to you.

Note: I haven't talked to either of the other mods about this, so they have the right to step in and say NO to this whole thing, if they really want.

There are apparently some conflicting opinions about the Reflect spell, so let's try and clear those up. We are using the Kingdom Hearts version of the spell, not a Final Fantasy variant. Please keep that in mind, everyone.

And a note for those involved in Roxas Rescue: please refrain from posting or commenting to the main community until the log is finished. We have some plans for it, and we don't want any lack of knowledge about those events interfering with the game. We'll try and keep this going as quickly as we can so this doesn't stall us out for too long, but that relies heavily on you guys, too, so please keep up with it.
