I believe it's time I properly introduced my self.

My name is Hex. As some of you may remember, I'm merely a bored Witch, seeking to wile away the ages in an interesting way.

To that end, you are all quite interesting people.

And so, I ask again, shall we play?

I set the stakes and the game, last time. It would only be fair to allow you to choose one this time.

I only ask that you put forth the effort to make things interesting, or else I'll have to to. I doubt you would enjoy that.

Recently, Maleficent and I exchanged favors. My dear cousin requested that I not interfere with the Miasma problem of Atlantica.

I might not pay attention to all that happens, but I do try to keep track of potential Witches.

Potential witch, huh? Is the capital W of any significance, or are you just being pretentious?

The capital W in Witch is because of the difference between a normal (and I delight in the irony here) magic user, and one that goes beyond them. There are a lot of contested points in just what constitutes a Witch, even among ourselves. Is it power? Immortality? That we are more magic than not?

The one point that is readily agreed upon, is that we aren't exactly run of the mill.

In a way, it's like being part of a club where very few people like anyone, and most things are viciously competitive. Only instead of paper balls, we tend to throw fireballs.

So, I suppose that you are mostly right when you call it a pretentious title.

Oh, well, in that case, then yes, your description covers my long-term plans fairly well. After I complete the four tiers of the Dream spell, however long that takes, I plan on studying shapeshifting. Nothing too extensive - I only care for three or four forms, and I don't expect even that to be easy. Difficulty won't stop me, however.
Immortality is more questionable, but it depends mainly on whether or not my lover remains immortal. Of course, if I cannot complete my planned studies within my natural lifetime, that could also be a deciding factor.

As for this "club" comparison, there I find complaint. Competition with other magicians is of no interest to me. I'm sure I can find much better things to do with that power.
