Oh, well, in that case, then yes, your description covers my long-term plans fairly well. After I complete the four tiers of the Dream spell, however long that takes, I plan on studying shapeshifting. Nothing too extensive - I only care for three or four forms, and I don't expect even that to be easy. Difficulty won't stop me, however. Immortality is more questionable, but it depends mainly on whether or not my lover remains immortal. Of course, if I cannot complete my planned studies within my natural lifetime, that could also be a deciding factor.
As for this "club" comparison, there I find complaint. Competition with other magicians is of no interest to me. I'm sure I can find much better things to do with that power.
