belegwen.livejournal.comSong's safely home. We haven't had much chance to talk yet. She's exhausted and a bit dehydrated, so after a light meal and a lot of water in small sips, I've put her to bed. She seems to be sleeping soundly, safe in her own room at last.
I haven't felt this happy in a long time. It was all I could do not to tuck her in.
Tomorrow . . . tomorrow we'll talk and we'll see what all she's been up to. All I can say for now is that we found her in the middle of the desert living like a hermit. She'd been out there long enough that the sunburn had mostly turned to suntan, and her hair is pretty thoroughly sun-streaked. But she isn't too malnourished or as dehydrated as one would expect for having been out there for all that long. No sign of her ship or her laptop.
But she's okay and she's home, and that's enough for me. Thanks to all of you who went with me to retrieve her.
