This is going to sound really weird,or maybe silly, but do you know one of the things I love about Earth? The sky.
I was outside with my dog, and I just walked around the backyard, then stopped to stare at the stars. It was slightly cloudy, and the stars and moon were bright and clear. It was just wonderful, and...it's just so much bigger here, if that makes any sense. I can see so much more. I guess it's the almost the same view on every world, but it just seems different to me. Special. Maybe because it's home.
I really wish my high school had an astronomy course.
Well, anyhow, I guess that's my way of saying hello for tonight. I've read everything posted so far; I'm glad to have a new community so everyone can keep in touch.
As for me, I've been alright. I was able to go back to school, which is nice. Apparently helping to save the universe earns special privileges, like tutoring to help me stay in advanced classes. So far it's going well; I've caught up and I'm managing pretty good grades. I'm not going to be in the honor society or anything this year, but I'm pretty happy anyway. When I first got back, lots of people asked questions and the local paper wanted to write an article - that was weird. Now things have settled down, almost back to normal. I can't say it feels like I never left, but it's still nice and quiet.yay obsessively focusing on school again?
Also, PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who's completely unprepared for Christmas. I need to think up a million gift ideas still.
