Aria, you were complaining about nausea a while ago? Did that turn out to be a flu or something? Cuz I think I might be coming down with it now.
I guess if I infect the whole of Rainbow's End, we'll know for certain.
Completely unrelated question; who was it besides Ryune who spent a lot of time with Ash when she was a Dancer? I want to think it was Ren, but my memory might be faulty. I'm asking because I want to know exactly how she was treated that helped her remember herself. Might as well try the same thing on Dusky.

Date: 2011-03-27 09:18 pm (UTC)This is just guesswork, but what about trying to establish a sort of 'ego', or sense of self? Give him/her a name, and stop refering to her/him as an it. Perform activities with them, and try asking lots of questions. By strengthening the ego, he/she will hopefully start developing a will of their own. And that will is what leads to evolution and development of a more... complete self, I suppose?
Just guesswork, here.
Applying some basic psychological knowledge, and some liberal applications of it I might add, a Heartless is comprised entirely of Id, whilst a Nobody is the leftover Ego and Super Ego. While a Dusk and other 'low' level Nobodies would be primarily Super Ego. As they attain more of an identity and a will of their own, an 'Ego', they'd become what most would class as an 'Organization' type Nobody. That is, one that has re-attained their human form.
One might argue that the drive to be complete is the Id, but it's an incomplete Id. Aside from the instinctual desire to become whole, Nobodies have no other major drives. However, there are exceptions to this. I theorize that a 'mostly' complete Nobody, IE a humanoid Nobody that has a strongly developed sense of self, would in fact, have a 'true' id, and be capable of a range of emotions. Thus, while one could technically call them in-human, the differences would be negligible. Then again, the urge to retrieve their Heart is still a major priority in this 'mostly' complete Nobody. For the sake of simplicity, I shall refer to such Nobodies as 'Nobles' in the future.
Given the extreme lack of actual contact with Noble type Nobodies, most of the data is pure conjecture and hypothesis. Please note that...
Cruuuuud, I got sidetracked there.
Anyway. Give the guy a sketchpad, and see what he does. See if you can teach him to draw. Either that, or try playing a game that involves a lot of creativity. Be nice, and treat him like a child that's really shy. You want to coax him out of his shell.
This should either help, or just sort of inspire quiet staring at you.

You do bring up some good points. I like the sketchbook idea as a test of progress if nothing else. I wouldn't expect much from him/her now, but any future increase in creativity would indicate that we were heading in the right direction.
