wrfinalmixarchiveWell, things are actually kind of different this time. Because of two factors, really. One is that I'm married. I had no idea how much more freedom I would have to go places and do things. I can walk down to the port with only a servant for an escort and no one thinks anything about it. Instead of requiring a chaperone, I can be a chaperone.
The other big difference is that I've been given a responsibility of sorts. That's right, I've been made an official lady-in-waiting to the princess, which gives me a pretty nice boost in status, as well as access to all the best gossip. And since a lot of people saw her family at the wedding . . . people are a little more accepting of the existence of magic, so hiding my healing and my laptop is less of an issue. Everyone knows that Lady Gwendolyn is something of a witch, but she's a good witch, so it's okay.
Anyway, my responsibilities are pretty light, mostly just helping her get dressed and keeping her company. She isn't all that demanding, and she doesn't like to do embroidery, so there's a lot less of the whole all the women sitting in a room and stitching going on.
The best gossip of all . . . she thinks she might be in an interesting condition.
