So, we're drowning in books here. The Mage's library isn't as big as I was picturing; it's actually about the size of my room back on Earth - surprised I still remember that - but it's literally wall to ceiling books. Not all of them are in English though, so that should narrow it down...or maybe not. It would figure, wouldn't it, to have what we need right in front of us, yet never know it 'cause we can't read it. I'll ask Caleb tomorrow, maybe he knows someone that can translate. Some of these books are so old, too, almost brittle. I've never been around books like that. Makes me nervous.
Eli's doing good, Jalen's almost bored. He's a reader for sure, but I know he'd rather be up and moving a lot of the time. He can always go wander the Infinite City for a while, but I'd be tempted to tie a rope to him. Four thousand years and no one's found an end to this place in any direction. Just lucky that the Mage's dwelling is only about a fifteen minute walk from the entrance in the village. It's all ornate carvings and green marble down here, kinda claustrophobic. Then there's a sliding panel in the floor that leads down another flight of stairs, and that opens up into this grand stone room with a waterfall. You have to pass through it to get to where we are. Eli loved that.
I'd better finish the book I'm on, then we're going above ground for sunshine and lunch. Yay.
