Cause and Effect

I know this is very soon after the fact. Perhaps I should wait until there's more evidence...
But I want to talk theories again.
The first thing that comes to me is the question of whether this is exactly like what happened two years ago, or if it is some kind of reflection. As an example, in one of my favorite book series, a cataclysm occurs which sends shockwaves through time itself, so that a thousand years later, the effects of this cataclysm begin again without a cause, moving across that world in the opposite direction than they did originally. Hence, a reflection.
My second thought is that we might want to keep a very close eye on the other worlds that have recently lost Princesses.
