There is something going around in Radiant Garden. A good portion of residents there have been feeling sick lately, complaining of inability to concentrate as normal, fatigue, and nausea.

Strangely enough, this illness seems to be restricted to magic-users. Those with stronger magic and a wider range of spells have been developing fevers and complaining of the previously listed symptoms, though it would appear that they are taking it much worse than new mages are.

This is very contagious. Any magic-user who comes to Radiant Garden may find themselves succumbing to this sickness. Those who leave may find that the illness spreads to whatever world they visit. Anyone could be a carrier.

Um...

So what's this I hear about Radiant Garden having swine flu or something?
[identity profile] belegwen.livejournal.com
Stuff's wrong. It's been wrong for months and it keeps getting worse and worse and nobody says or does anything.  We comment on the weather and carry weapons to fight the monsters, but that's all, and more things keep going wrong.

We have to stop ignoring it. I don't understand why we've been ignoring it. We've been so stupid for so long.

Sora went to investigate it months ago, but we still know almost nothing.

But no one's done anything else. We're holding our hands over our ears and insisting that we can't hear anything.

It's obvious . . .oh, gods, my head . . . it's obvious that something is wrong with the worlds themselves, and we need to find out the cause. You can't stop an infection just by treating the symptoms. They just keep getting worse and worse.

I can't do a thing right now, between Ashlyn and how awful I'm feeling--it's not just whatever this is some of us have, my body is still really torn up from last week. I know some of the rest of you probably can't do much either.

It's gonna have to be some of you who don't do magic and those of you on other worlds who haven't been exposed. It's taken me nearly an hour to write this, and I don't think I can do much that's more demanding, unless someone finds some kind of cure.

I can't fix it . . . I can't fix anything. Damn it.

I think I'm a touch post-partum.

But that doesn't matter. What matters is that we need to start fixing this. Before the worlds just shake themselves apart.

How could we have been so blind for so long?

Poisoned

Orpheus said something at the end of January. It didn't make sense to me then, but now I wonder if he knew what was going to happen.

"Your world has been poisoned, not by me and not by who you think but in another way."

I haven't received word from him since. He'd told me he found some kind of door, and a world that was different. He asked me to come find him, he was waiting, and the only reason I didn't go immediately was because of what he'd said about our worlds. I wanted to make sure the rest of you would be alright before I left.

Part of me wishes I'd gone then. I'm worried. I want to think that he's safe, wherever he is, that the ailments we and the worlds are experiencing can't reach him where he's gone, but how can I be sure? No word from him in over four months, and meanwhile all we know is that the worlds are "poisoned" but not how or why or what we can do to cure them.

Mabry's right. We need to crack down on this. We had it easy last time, knowing exactly who our enemies were and what was supposed to happen. Now all we have are a few scattered clues that may or may not mean anything. We may have to find all the answers for ourselves, instead of relying on some prophecy. Or if the answer is in one or more of the prophecies, we have to find out where.

I stand by my icon no matter what. Even if this looks like the perfect time to panick it is NOT. That's just forfeiting oneself to evil.

So, lets take this logistically, can we do some very logical information gathering?

What we know...

  • Alexandria and Ivalice appear

  • Aya may have had a run in with Kefka

  • The King, Sora, Riku, Donald, Goofy, Kairi and Roxas investigate

  • Weird Weather shifts

  • Appearance of Final Fantasy Critters

  • Earthquakes in RG

  • Magic Epidemic

... did i miss anything else important?

Canon similarities:

Alexandria is from FFIX
Ivalice is from FFXII (?)
Kefka is from FFVI
Weathershifts REMIND ME of FFV (...but that might just be me)

... Does anyone know if any of the final fantasy games cover the concept of "magical suppresion"?

This is just me talking about myself and whining about doing nothing again. Seriously, just skip this post. )

OKAY, so it's obvious that something is going on. Figuring that part out is easy. It's also pretty clear that this something reeks of Final Fantasy, so we're obviously familiar with some of the elements involved in whatever is going on. We have happenings, and we can connect them to things we know about. The problem is, we don't have enough to tie them together. We can't act because we don't have anything to act on - I mean, Sora and co already explored Alexandria, right? And the chances of finding this maybe-Kefka are pretty low.

As much as I'd love to have a super-amazing suggestion of a way that we could get out and start fighting for justice and such again, I'm coming up blank. Is there really anything we can do but wait, at this point?

I don't know if I have whatever it is that's been going around. I don't seem to have any symptoms but I could still be carrying it. I don't even know what the symptoms are.

I have no idea what to do. If I don't have it I should probably stay away from Radiant Garden. If I do I should stay away from everywhere else and have possibly already spread it to Ingary. Ingary is the only place I actually stopped since I left.

I'm not going to land anywhere until I know if I have whatever it is.

...

Has anyone heard from the King lately?

I've been looking through this community lately, and maybe this isn't the best time for an introduction, but hello, everyone. My name is Morgan.

I recently graduated from college. I was supposed to be a nurse, but I was never the best at the more medical sorts of things they deal with. My specialty was always with poisons and antidotes, so I probably wouldn't be so much help around any regular hospital. So, I want to offer my services to you.

I haven't missed the problems you've been having lately on -- what was it? Radiant Garden? -- and I'd like to help, if I can. Like I said, illnesses aren't my true area of expertise, but I want to try. Besides, if all this is happening to some of the most powerful people out there, I think you can use all the help you can get.

The problem, however, lies in the fact that I am still on Earth. I can't do anything from here, so if I could get a ride to that world, I would do everything I could for you guys.
