You know, we never did figure out why Earth is so different. The world of ignorant prophets and all that.
Only... wasn't there a conversation at some point in which it was mentioned that the other worlds have stories of each other, and maybe even stories about worlds that Earth never told. So are they all prophetic to some degree? Is there some kind of connection, like a web, between all of them, which inspires the people?
Ooh, is it because the worlds themselves know each other, and some subconscious sense of that knowing is transmitted to their inhabitants?
Maybe... the world spirits set us up. Maybe Earth knew there would be trouble, and that by inspiring the right people with the right stories, she could provide a lot of help, being such a big world and all.
That thought is almost scary, in a way. It would mean we didn't change fate at all. We were just encouraged to change what we thought was fate.
Or maybe the worlds and the people in them really do dream each other into existence, like Ryuu and I used to talk about. A cycle of dreams becoming reality. A turning wheel, one could say.
Sorry. I know this isn't really the time for it, but I can't stop thinking. You know how I am...
Anyway, almost home now. Thanks to the curses, I'll be able to make it to the wedding after all.

Date: 2009-08-26 03:22 pm (UTC)It is possible that we have been dreamed by someone else, like the sleeping King in Alice Through the Looking Glass.
...If that's true, then I'm creating tons of things just by dreaming every time I fall asleep every couple of d/g.,aegpkaegta

Date: 2009-08-26 03:36 pm (UTC)I found a jewelry booth at the Market, right? Guy was a traveler, obviously, and he made... world necklaces of some of the worlds he'd been to. Miniatures of them, that reflect whatever's going on in that world.
I... I found one of a world I'd thought I'd just imagined. But obviously, some of the things we thought were our imaginations can be more than that; life's kind of... proven that to us, hasn't it? [ weak laugh ]
So maybe... [ another sigh and it turns off ]

Date: 2009-08-26 04:26 pm (UTC)Perhaps the events in the game really happened in an alternate universe. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to have this thought. I don't remember whether anyone mentioned it if they have though.
I've always sort of thought that some or most of the stories people tell are at least influenced by the events of another reality. Even before all of this 'Kingdom Hearts is real wtf I'm gonna die O_o' stuff.
I would be disturbed if some of my dreams became reality. You'd end up with a world of killer bobble heads, random silvery caves, stair cases that go nowhere, crystal fruit and sharks in the basement. And trees, lots of trees and random roads that pass through giant territory.
I'm going all over the place with this. Rambling and some of it is probably off topic. Oh well.
I'm pretty sure the other Final Fantasy worlds exist somewhere. We just can't get to them for some reason. There's also the chance that even if we found them they'd be sealed off like Alexandria was at first.
Hmmm, the wedding... I've never been to a wedding. Not sure I want to go... I think it would have been funny if they had just gone on with the wedding with everyone cursed. >.> It would certainly have made for interesting wedding photos.

Date: 2009-08-26 04:42 pm (UTC)But when I use the word 'dream', I'm not really talking about ordinary sleeping dreams. I mean fantasies. Imagining people and worlds who don't exist.
Though literal dreams could count in some instances, like Ryuu's Aaron.

Date: 2009-08-26 05:01 pm (UTC)I dunno. It's just weird and exciting and hard to believe and just... all sorts of things I can't really explain right now.

Date: 2009-08-26 05:11 pm (UTC)That's probably how I "felt" when Xemnas first told me what it was he was trying to do. Only you can really feel it.
You know, I keep thinking about those words Sora says at the beginning. I never understood what they were about, until it all came true.
"I've been having these weird thoughts lately..."

Date: 2009-08-26 05:12 pm (UTC)The worlds are alive and each has its own consciousness. We met them, after we defeated Xemnas in his Dreaming.

Date: 2009-08-26 05:18 pm (UTC)But like I said to Crystal, when I talk about dreams in this sense, I mean conscious fantasies. Daydreams and imaginings. In other words, Neverending Story style.
I don't even know how many weddings I've been to. My mother used to be licensed to perform them, and she'd take me along, so mostly they were the weddings of complete strangers.
It's funny, I didn't think much of it back then. I was just a kid, and a very sheltered one at that, but now I think it was a rather unusual experience.
One time, the wedding was held at a big state park, and I went walking the trails with my father and brother. We were almost back, but I saw a fork in the path ahead and wanted to see where it went, so I ran ahead, bolted around the bend, and found myself face to face with a bobcat. It was pretty awesome.

Date: 2009-08-26 07:29 pm (UTC)Oh. So...do writers and artists unconsciously create new worlds? Like, does every character that a person thinks up come into existence?
If that was so, then who knows how many worlds could be out there. It's pretty scary.

Date: 2009-08-26 07:35 pm (UTC)Who knows.
Though, that would almost make <>this universe the Dreaming, wouldn't it?

Date: 2009-08-26 07:36 pm (UTC)Oh...
World spirits, dreaming things into reality, unbelievable curses, magic, other worlds in general...man, people on Earth have been blissfully ignorant about these things for so many years.
But, then again, maybe it's supposed to be like that. Maybe there's a reason why we weren't introduced to all of this sooner. I just don't know what that reason might be...

Date: 2009-08-26 07:43 pm (UTC)Without gummi space, none of the worlds would be connected...
but many of them are only pieces of worlds, you know? There's an old legend that says the world of Light was shattered into pieces, so it would make sense if the little worlds of Kingdom Hearts are those pieces, but that leaves out places like Earth and Mirror Earth, as well as the Final Fantasy worlds.
Kingdom Hearts and gummi space sure make a mess out of any known cosmology.

Date: 2009-08-26 07:43 pm (UTC)...So are we the dreams, or are we the creators of the dreams? Or is someone dreaming all of us, dreaming of how we're dreaming?
And, now that I think about it, what happened to all the things we Dreamed up in the final battle against Xemnas? Did they go away or are they still existing somewhere?

Date: 2009-08-26 07:47 pm (UTC)Xemnas always said "the Wheel turns". I think he met a wheel of fate, but I keep picturing it as a wheel that connects the worlds. Say... one world dreams another, which dreams another, which dreams another... and eventually we come around to a world that dreams the first world. So every world is dream and dreamer.
But that's just one theory.
As for the dreams we created then, since that Dreaming wasn't complete, I imagine they were only temporary. However, if you go by the theory above or something similar, then alternate versions of them could still exist, if we still dream them.
Again, this is all guess work, but fun to think about, isn't it?

Date: 2009-08-26 07:50 pm (UTC)...It's almost like one of those logic problems. The kind that make your head hurt after a while.
But it is possible, that out of the myriad numbers of worlds out there, at least one might be able to understand the nature of the universe.

Date: 2009-08-27 03:39 am (UTC)Everything changes. Even destiny. So what is fate, if it's very definition goes against the laws of nature?
