[Locked to allies]
I'm starting to want to get the hell off-world. That kinda sucks, considering I spent so much time wanting to be back here, and fought so hard for it. But this crap- I don't know how to deal with it anymore. After the last one, Song and I set up some pretty elaborate traps to maybe catch whoever's doing this.
So much for that! I went to fetch a book from our room, which meant passing through Eli's nursery. He was sleeping, no problem. I swear I was only in the other room for a few seconds, and when I walked back into the nursery...
Stick figure on the floor in front of the crib. I mean, what the bloody- I grabbed Eli and started checking traps. Once I saw the first couple were gone- I don't know. I guess I just lost it. I don't even remember grabbing my laptop, or deciding to hide in the closet. Then Jalen was pulling the door open and staring, and-
I want to go to Heatherfield. Seeing Gran and Granddad would help, and they've only found those two dolls and neither was in the house, so... Except I got an e-mail from Granddad today, saying how he didn't mean to worry me but he knew I'd be more upset if he hid it. They found a stick figure sitting on the floor in front of Eli's crib today.
I feel like I'm going nuts. Or maybe paranoid.
Jalen had a hell of a time getting me out of the closet, but I finally came out because he took Eli for his snack and diaper change, and I couldn't bear to let my Ladybug out of my sight. 'Course, once that was done I took him and hid again. This time Song sat outside the door and talked to me for a while. I think it was her threat of throwing swing sets into every dream I have for the next week that did it. I don't think I'm going to let myself sleep much though.

You and Eli are going to get so many hugs the instant I see you again, it's not even funny.

We can't wait to see you.
Don't forget to hug Jalen too. The look on his face'll be priceless.Eli says mama and dada, maybe I can teach him to say Ren. Or maybe it'll come out Wen...no subject
Aww, thanks.
Ha ha, will do. XDAnd again, awwww. Now I'm flashing back to how my little sister apparently used to call me "Lo-Lo" when she was first learning how to talk. Now I feel all warm and fuzzy. ^^no subject
Well, my tactical suggestion says to go with full on active surveillance. Since whatever's doing this is acting always just out of sight, physically and constantly observing everything should either stop it outright from happening, or allow us to figure out just what the hell it is.
I would however say that abandoning the highground is a bad idea. Unless your grandparent's house has all the same protections as Rainbow's End, moving there would just expose more weaknesses. And, apart from the sticks (which are creepy, I'll admit) and mussing with your traps, which is also creepy, what has this thing done? For the most part, it's harmless. It's fucking with you, and hoping you're going to trip up.
It's like TI, in basic. They deliberately screw with you, and try to get you to mess up. And when you do mess up, they capitalize on it. That's about the politest way to say it.
Probably the biggest difference here, is that this isn't being done with the same intent as a crucible. This is just them trying to get you to crack. I think.
I don't actually have any evidence for this theory. It's just that some of your reactions are similar to stories of really freaked trainees I've heard about. IE panic, hiding in a closet, poor sleep, mild paranoia.
Now, I actually don't have an answer that's really useful on how to deal with this. In basic, the TI went away (late) at night, and 8 1/2 weeks later, you went to tech school. All I can really suggest is trying to take a more proactive approach. Not just setting traps, not just running away. Organize a hunt for this little leprechaun. Have you tried tracing magic on those bundles of sticks? How about using a rotating night-watch system, with everyone sleeping in the same room? Camera's are a little bit expensive, especially seeing as you'll want them to record. Plus, if this thing could take apart your traps, it can probably try and alter the recordings they take. If they can even be caught on tape at all.
Yeah, now that I think of it, using a rotating sleep schedule with the person on watch keeping a log, should actually work really well. If nothing else, it'll help with making some deductions about this thing.

Naw, my grandparents' place is probably the least protected dwelling anywhere. Just a regular place with regular locks on the door. But I can get to Meridian from Heatherfield, and Mal sure can't get there. Maybe it's time for a vacation
for Jalen and Eli.You're right, so far it hasn't done anything, but remember, Eli was transfigured into a cat and replaced with sticks. I'm pretty much expecting Maleficent to try and take him again.
We tried to trace Eli like that, didn't work. Maybe it'd work better on the sticks. Moot point anyway, every time I find one of those things I torch it.

Two people over a 24 hr period in two 12 hour shifts =/= Good Surveillance. You're going to be distracted over that period, and probably bored for a lot. An ideal schedule would have six teams of two people rotating every four hours. Unfortunately, we don't have twelve people who can just dedicate the entirety of their day to watching your house.
On another note, have you tried salt circles? I've read some stuff about that supposedly helping keep spirits out. Generally though, it's more of a last line of defense kind of thing. From what I remember, anyway.

Okay, so it's a long shot. I can hope, though, right?

Eli really likes the snow globe you gave him. Laughs every time I shake it.

Cool. I was worried I should have gotten him a more baby-proof toy. Do ya think he'd like the feather toy I strung together for him when he was a kitten?
