We're like Final Destination. Every time you think, "this has got to be the last movie" then suddenly another one comes out of nowhere.

Really, I can't leave you all alone for a few simple months. You've been taking far too many lessons from me.

With the barriers down again, it looks like it's time for my vacation to end. Figured this time I should let you all know instead of vanishing off the face of the planet like I did four months ago.

I'll help you all in the best way I can - I just can't do that here. Besides, you all can kick ass without me and my ability to attract bad luck like a magnet.

Take care of yourselves - a presto

[locked to Ray] Don't use all those grenades in one place, okay? [/locked]

Personally, I think Stitch makes a great godfather. And I'm still wondering how my week-long visit got extended into over a month...

everyone still alright out there?

[static at first and then Josiah's voice comes through. He sounds exhausted and like his jaw is clenched]

Nobodies. Why'd it have to be Nobodies? [a barely audible hiss of pain] Everyone else okay? Nobody ended up on the moon, right?

hope everyone had a mild new year - or if it was a little crazy, that you took a lot of pictures.

if anyone needs me, I'll be ringing in the new year beating up Heartless in the Maw

[there's the sound of a lot of static at first. Then the noise starts to clear out to the sound of typing]

alright, almost there. Dammit, I hate techno- ....oh shi-

[exploding noise, followed by a series of muffled crashes, the last one sounding particularly bad. A few moments of silence pass. When Josiah speaks again, his voice is farther away than it was before, and he sounds slightly - okay, VERY - dazed]

....the hell was that? Owwwww....

[Static grows louder again until the recording turns off]

[voice post - emailed from dummy address to Ray, Ren, Song, Chase]

[[the recording starts and stops a few times before someone starts speaking - a familiar voice, but no longer speaking with a Welsh accent. And he sounds like he's in a lot of pain... or trying to fight to speak]]

...guys...

...can't make this... but... the grimoire - you can't... if it comes down to it... if there's no choice-

[[he stops for a moment, gasping for breath]]

dammit... not her fault... she's not... not anyone's fault... it won't be but you have to get the tali-

[[there's a strangled groan, and the recording goes dead]]

[[ooc: didn't have a lot of time - so emailed to the first people he could think of]]

Other than the obvious kidnapping and disabling ships, what do your employers usually ask you to do?
Entry tags:

ooc: something relevant here

since neither Lilith nor Calum actually post to the network willingly, I'll just leave this right here. for those in Atlantica, you'll notice that Lilith's ship is gone, along with its pilot. Also, the ward on the Cork has been tampered with, and a certain pirate is also missing.

Anybody get the name of that runaway world shift?

Ow.

Did I... miss something?

[recording]

[[the laptop obviously got bumped into - the recording starts in the middle of what sounds like a lot of heavy stones falling to the ground. No, not stones. From the noise, it sounds like boulders. Something is cracking too, breaking into thousands of pieces, and over that noise, is the sound of tornado-force winds.]]

[[worse yet, there's the sounds of terrified screams that are often abruptly cut off]]

[[this goes on for about five minutes before the gales die down. Then, rumbling again, far off at first, but then it slowly gets louder...]]

[[the recording shuts off]

Time and time again.

Will it really be two years since this all started?

I guess this is the part where we all start to walk down memory lane... but somehow, I'm getting the feeling that the more things change, the more they stay exactly the same.

Things aren't quite right.

But I'll be damned if this counts for my "happy ending".

[[voice post?]]

[[at first, there's only static... and then the recording starts with Phil, Hercules, and Meg arguing in the background over something, but their voices are too hushed to really make out what they're arguing about. Phil sounds particularly upset, but the arguments are cut off as someone faintly groans]]

god...dammit all... [[Josiah's voice sounds very off, as if he is extremely out of it]] ...what the hell... just happened?

[[there is silence for all of two seconds and then Phil begins grumbling about how a good part of the coliseum looks like some demigod went storming through it, and the part that isn't blasted away is flooded from melting ice. This goes on for about three minutes until Hercules manages to calm him down]]

[[confused pause from Josiah and then...]]

...shit. [[this half-hearted exclamation is followed by the sounds of someone being very, very sick. Phil starts grumbling some more, followed by a door slamming shut, and Hercules sighs. Suddenly there's an abrupt amount of static, and the recording eventually shuts off on its own]]

Imagine that.

Looks like you children have a bit of a problem on your hands.

how's that joke go? A guy tells his friend to "cheer up - things could get be worse". So the friend cheered up, and sure enough, things got worse.

I'm not sure how much Calum knows about this whole world-illness thing or the earthquakes or the odd weather, but I'll check to see if I can learn anything. See, having MPD can be a good thing every once and awhile.

I guess this would be where I'd put in a Ryune- or Brandon-esque pep talk here. But I'll just leave this ( http://xkcd.com/544/ ) right here instead.

[the laptop is at a weird angle on the table, as if it is half-hidden under something. Josiah is writing something on a piece of paper, though at the angle the laptop is sitting at, its hard to make out the words. He is idly flipping an intricate-looking gold coin in his hand. The sounds of drunken, riotous laughter and conversation are heard, but they seem to be a distance away.]

[there's a pause in the writing as a shadow appears over the table. Josiah doesn't even look up, but asks in Calum's accent] Can I help you?

[another pause, followed by the telltale click of a pistol's hammer being pulled back. Calum only laughs quietly, though there's no amusement in the tone] Do you really want to do that?

[The person says something, but it's said so quietly that the laptop doesn't pick it up. Calum only raises an eyebrow] Oh really now. How convenient for you. [gestures quickly and there's a startled gasp, followed by the gun going off, and then silence, despite the commotion still going on in the background] I don't have time for your games, sir. [takes one more glance at the paper he had been writing on, and frowns] Yes, that should work.

[flips the coin one more time and pockets it before glancing curiously at the laptop. He reaches over, and then the recording goes dead]

loving Tortuga so far.

I stopped keeping track of how many fights have been started here - mainly due to a certain ghost pirate who will not be named. Considering that I've had a sword at my throat or a gun pointed at my head at least a dozen times since I've been here, I should be used to it by now.

I'll hand it to him though - the guy can throw down in a fight. Without using magic. (I'm trying to figure out if I should be more concerned about than I am... probably).

how's everyone else on the other side of the multiverse?
