Cool stuff happens when I leave.

But! Upon arriving back here, I was immediately swept to...my dad's workplace.

They're renovating. To make room. For gummi ships.

I mean, I knew they were using gummi tech in cars and stuff, but they're actually starting to build ships to go between worlds. I've been doing a little digging since I got back, and from what I understand, they're making cargo ships for interworld mail and passenger ships for interworld travel.

Am I the only one who sees a few problems with this? For one, we have the barest of diplomatic relations with most of these worlds. And if we establish anything concrete, I imagine it will follow something like, underdeveloped worlds are off-limits, but go ahead and do scenic vacations in Andalasia. It'll just cost you $679853467.82. That, or it'll be banned altogether, aside from Mirror Earth and Radiant Garden. And maybe Twilight Town.

For two, the Refugees might come under fire for being the only ones allowed to travel freely between whatever worlds they want. And that scares me. That really does scare me.

Did I mention that the companies operating these interworld systems want warp gummis for their ships?

I dunno, you guys. All this multiworld stuff is getting kind of complicated now that politics have been thrown in the mix.

Now, I hate to bring it up again, but this is one of the reasons I originally spoke against gummi technology on Earth. I've changed my mind since, but the point still remains in areas like the ones you describe.

I guess we'll see how it goes.
I hardly associate with Earth anymore as it is. Still, I'll be pretty irritated if any problems arise from this.

Somehow I'm not sure I'd be surprised if they'd try to ban us from interplanetary travel if no one else can do it. That or make us ambassadors.

Or, like you said before, only have it available to the insanely rich.

Yeah, I've been hearing about the gummi ships people are trying to develop, and talks about off world travel and laws and all that fun stuff. Thankfully I'm sorta out of the way, so no one's been bothering me and my family, but I am concerned about this. It could easily turn into a touchy subject. I'm still trying to hold out hope that maybe this won't end up being too much of an issue. Somehow. and it's totally nooooot working

The best answer is probably to only permit travel to worlds that know about other worlds already. And I mean where the whole population knows like Disney Castle or Radiant Garden. That puts a serious limit on where people can go, but I really don't like the idea of stupid tourists on worlds that have no clue about other worlds.

I knew giving Earth gummi tech was a bad idea...
