Whoa, uhh...
I mean, not that this is unwelcome or anything? But I kind of thought I was done with the whole world-hopping thing.
Where am I, anyway? This is definitely new and not Disney.
EDIT: I appear to be in Wanderer's Refuge. Very few people will talk to me. Will update as I find out more.
UPDATE: I figured it out! When the newspaper lady realized I was an off-worlder, she explained their customs to me. Apparently, everyone on the world wears a Truth of Heart crystal. They're little charms you can put on necklaces and stuff. Anyway, they show your level of Light or Darkness, so merchants can tell if you're trustworthy or not. I wasn't wearing one, so that's why no one would sell me a goddamn newspaper. But newspaper lady helped me find a mage who could give me one, and now I have it and a Scrier. Everyone has a Scrier too, because apparently the world is in a constant state of flux! This city is pretty stable, but if I had stayed out in that forest, or gone somewhere else, I probably would have gotten lost.
Guys, this world is amazing! You've got to come here. I can't explore this whole place alone.

See if you can find any newspapers. Those ought to give you some clues.

No, hold on...wow, this is weird.
I just saw someone selling newspapers and I went to go buy one like you said, but when she saw me, she...I dunno, flicked her wrist at me or something? And then...I can't really describe it, but like...I could see light around her. And then I turned around and saw a couple other people, and they had light too, but one of them was really dim.
Everyone here has light on them except for me. See?
[The camera points at the center of the area, where people are milling about near a large fountain. Two women sitting at the lip of the fountain have light shining from just below their necks. There are groups of traders and merchants dealing with their customers, and everyone has varying degrees of brightness shining from somewhere on their bodies. Two haggling women each shine from their left wrists, and a man in a long coat has something bright in his pocket. Auria points the camera at herself, getting most of her upper body into view.]
See? I've got nothing. I'm gonna see if I can get close enough to someone to find out what makes that light.

The guy with the really dim light, what was he (or she, whichever) like? Did they seem like they were down on their luck, kind of shifty, something like that?

Well, as soon as I get picked up from these woods, I'll see if I can't swing by. That place does sound pretty fascinating, with the built-in karma meters everyone seems to be wearing, hehe.
