[Those who've played Birth by Sleep will probably recognize the voice coming out of the speakers, though it sounds rough, as though it hasn't been used in years]

Christmas. I'd never thought I'd be celebrating this, or any holiday, again. I... I guess there's something to be said about Christmas Miracles, after all.

[There's a slight pause, he was supposed to be doing more than just waxing poetic here]

Um. I guess I should introduce myself. My name's Terra, and I wanted to thank all of you who helped my friends...

[There's another pause, it's somewhat awkward this time, as though there's other things he wanted to say just left hanging in the air. The recording then cuts off]

[ there is not even the slightest bit of doubt in her voice ] Yes. You.

[ The video turns on, and Ray is giving the camera her best frowny face. All the enthusiasm from before? Completely gone. ] Yes. You are. And don't you deny it, ever.

Everyone makes mistakes, Terra. You didn't mean to let Xeh- [ her voice trails off, and her expression softens a little as she averts her eyes. ] You didn't mean for that to happen. You guys got hit hard by prequelitis, and that wasn't your fault, okay? You're... idk, you seem kinda like Riku to me... just a person whose Darkness is a little closer to the surface. That doesn't mean you're a bad person, either of you; hell, I know for a fact that you are a good person, and you deserve much better than what happened.

M- Xe- [ She pauses, trying to work out what she wants to say, and looks back at the screen with a sad sort of smile. ] He knew how to manipulate you. Some people can do that with anyone; we just dealt with a zombie who do something like that a while back. But what happened? Was that you got manipulated, and horribly used. And I'm sorry for that.

[ Her expression becomes stern once again. ] But god damn it, all three of you are wonderful, awesome people and if I ever see you deny that again I will hunt you down so I can give you a punch a hug.

I should have seen it. I should've handled it differently. But I played right into his hands.

[ frowns some more ] Shoulda, woulda, coulda. No one change the past.

And besides, no one really sees that they're getting played while they're getting played. It doesn't work like that, especially with a guy like you who trusts people. It's one of those things that you really only see in hindsight, and again, that is not your fault, Terra. Hell, some of us Refugees have been manipulated by his Nobody, some more than others. And shit, we knew what was going on. [ pauses, mumbles ] Just not about you.

Look. You can't blame yourself for it all. I know that's easier said than done, but you tried with all your heart to stop him back then. He may have manipulated you, but once you figured it out, you fought back, hard, and that's what counts.

And the fact that you couldn't stop him? [ winces; she knows this is a sore topic ] That's not your fault, either. Evidently, he'd been planning to do... what he did for quite a while, and he was a damn good bit older than you, and a Master, too. And if you're as unprepared as you three were, you just can't stand up against that sort of person.
